On April 2, a Pakistani accused of sexual harassment decided not to present himself before the First Instance Court in Dubai. This was after a CCTV footage proved the accusations made by a Filipina OFW.
Last December 19, a 32-year-old Filipina working in Dubai filed legal charges against a 28-year-old Pakistani who allegedly groped her while in the supermarket. According to Khaleej Times, the incident happened at around 9 pm. The complainant said that she felt a man touching her behind while she was in the cashier’s counter.
“I had just picked up a garbage bin to buy and was carrying it before walking to the cashier, when I felt someone hand's on my behind. It was the defendant. He ran away when I hit him with the bin,” said the Filipina, quotes lifted from the Khaleej Times.
The woman who was working as an Assistant Manager immediately alarmed the Al Rafaa police and told them the incident. The suspect who fled from the incident was arrested after the victim was able to positively identify him.
During the interrogations, the suspect denied the claims and told the police that he just accidentally touched her behind. However, the store had a CCTV footage that showed the suspect touching the Filipina on purpose. The footage proved the claims of the Filipina who was able to present the case before the Arab court.
Further details for the case are yet to be provided.
