A show-cause order against Senator Leila de Lima was finally served to the Senate on Tuesday by leaders of the House of Representatives.
The order addressed to De Lima was personally handed by House Majority Leader Rodolfo Fariñas and Oriental Mindoro Rep. Reynaldo Umali to the Senate Secretary around 11:30 a.m.
Umali chairs the House justice committee investigating the alleged proliferation of illegal drugs at the New Bilibid Prison.
The House issued the show-cause order against De Lima for advising her former aide, Ronnie Dayan, not to attend the House probe.
Dayan later testified in the House probe and claimed to have delivered money to De Lima from suspected drug lord Kerwin Espinosa.
