The new coast guard ship from Japan named BRP Tubbataha is intended to help in the patrolling over the South China Sea.
The turn over ceremony was graced by Japan diplomats, representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency and our very own Transportation Secreatary, Arthur Tugade.
The country is expecting ten more 44-meter coast guard ships from Japan, summing up to P8.8 billion. This was previously discussed in almost an hour and a half meeting on August 11 between PH President Rody Duterte and Fumio Kushida, Japan's Foreign Minister.
The new ship of the Philippines is equipped with night vision capability, morse code equipment, radio direction locators and many other amazing features.
