In Kalibo, Aklan, a 17-year-old Grade 10 student hanged herself in their home at Brgy. Nazareth, Buruanga after a heated argument with her mother.
According to S/Insp. Buruanga PNP Chief William Aguirre, the teenager was discovered in the kitchen by her 7-year-old sibling.
The victim used rope taken from his nephew's crib. The family was shocked and immediately rushed the teen girl to the hospital. However, she was declared dead mere moments later.
Reportedly the victim was resentful of her parent because her mother caught her skipping school to go out on a date with her boyfriend at a bahay kubo on a beach.
The mother allegedly did not allow her daughter to see her boyfriend any mmore, which she took very personally. She took her own life afterward.
Despite the tragic nature of the event, some netizens were vocally disappointed in the victim's choice of actions.
