In Barangay Cagay in Masbate City, a 17-year-old girl was killed and raped by her own uncle.
The Grade 10 student studying in Alejandro Delos Reyes Integrated High School (ADRIHS) was last seen on February 14 after failing to come home at 5:00 in the afternoon.
The 39-year-old mother of the victim, who is also the suspect's sister, filed reports regarding her missing daughter the next morning on February 15.
The victim was found dead and drenched in mud at a river in Purok 6 in Barangay Cagay two days after she went missing, February 16 at 7 in the morning.
The body was then brought to Pipo's funeral parlor for an autopsy.
According to one witness, the victim was last seen with her 32-year-old uncle whom Police Senior Inspector Alvaro Ventabal of Police Community Relation (PCR) Office identified as Amador Dalanon y Cos.
Apparently, the suspect is also a resident of the barangay and currently lives with his live-in partner.
He later confessed to the crime admitting that he choked the victim and sexually assaulted her lifeless body, according to SPO1 Arlene Jones of the Women and Children's Protection Desk (WCPD).
The man is now facing charges of rape and homicide.
