MANILA – Philippine bet Maxine Medina ended her Miss Universe journey on Monday as she failed to make it to the Top 3 of the international beauty contest.
The three finalists in the pageant came from Colombia, France and Haiti.
Medina, a model and interior designer, was eyeing to get a back-to-back victory even as the pageant is held in her home country.
Her predecessor, Filipina-German Pia Wurtzbach, was crowned Miss Universe in 2015.
The 65th Miss Universe pageant continues to be held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City and is aired live on ABS-CBN channel 2.
