MANILA – President-elect Rodrigo Duterte, who will assume office next week, said he would set up a 24-hour hotline to receive the public’s complaints.
“I will place around seven or 10 person to man 24 hours a day. Direkta sa akin para mamonitor ko,” Duterte said in an interview posted on supporter Mocha Uson’s Facebook page on Saturday.
Duterte also reiterated his push for the reinstatement of death penalty and the establishment of a department for overseas Filipino workers.
He said his government would work to solve traffic congestion in the capital. Incoming transportation secretary Arthur Tugade said Duterte would ask “emergency powers” from Congress to respond to the traffic “crisis.”
